ATX PostHit and Run at Wheatsville, At Least Two Injured
Walking home from making copies and buying drinks at Wheatsville north on Guadalupe when a loud crunch came through the headphones, and saw a black car (unsure KXAN reports it was a silver Lexus – the same vehicle that hit the Four Sons sign) crunching into another car just a block or so from where I was…instead of stopping, the offending car turned around, drove down the wrong side of the road which resulted in two more collisions…
…turned around, walked over to the hit car, all of the debris everywhere and the air bags deployed – they were calling 911 through the speaker phone. Another car had been hit and was stalled at the walkway in front of Wheatsville. Previously a group of girl scouts had been selling cookies in front of the store, and now two people were on the ground, injured. Car parts everywhere, as I walked on a grey SUV of some sort had slammed into the sign at Four Sons Quality Cleaners. Fire department on the scene currently.
Update: The Statesman reports that one of the pedestrians has died. KEYE has a photo of the accident and will report live at 10pm.
